Comprehensive Psychiatric Support for Bipolar Disorder in Colorado

We're passionate about mental health at Larson, and we know just how intense, frustrating, and debilitating bipolar disorder symptoms can be. We offer personalized medication management through trained psychiatric specialists across multiple Colorado locations.

Recognizing the Signs and Symptoms

Mental health conditions present differently in each person, but common indicators of bipolar disorder include:

  • Manic: heightened euphoria, grandiosity, feelings of self-importance
  • Manic: increased energy and decreased need for sleep
  • Manic: impulsivity and risky behaviors
  • Depressive: persistent sadness, self-doubt, despair
  • Depressive: lack of interest and/or energy
  • Rapid cycling between states

If you recognize several of these signs in yourself or a loved one, an evaluation with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) can clarify whether what you’re experiencing meets diagnostic criteria — and what treatment options may help.

Treatment Approach

Treatment combines prescription medications and adjunct therapies tailored to your needs. Mood stabilizers can be used alone or in combination with antidepressants. Common options include Lithium, Abilify (aripiprazole), Lamictal (lamotrigine), Latuda (lurasidone), Zyprexa (olanzapine), and Seroquel (quetiapine).

Alongside medication, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and other behavioral interventions help patients identify triggers and build coping strategies.
